The Silent Word

the unheard, unspoken word

Are You Sirius?

In the 90s, "Sirius" by the Alan Parson's Project was quite possibly the most famous (and henceforth overused) athletic event opening song (slash team introduction background song), you couldn't throw a shoe in high school or college sports without hitting someone turning on the Alan Parsons Project.

So, these days, I expect to be bored and frustrated when I hear this song at athletic events.

I am not.

It amazes me how excited I get whenever I heard that song. It makes me want to run out in a uniform somewhere and play some sport with a team of other people.

Huh... I just looked it up on iTunes. I've actually never heard that song before. I wonder if it was just a Montana thing? Or perhaps it could be that I didn't watch a lot of sports in high school.

i DEFINITELY remember running out to ball games to this song! overused, maybe... worth it?! YES!!!!

ps. my "word" to post this comment was "tronedil" what do you think of this as a baby name? lol... ;)

Jen: It started off as the Chicago Bulls opening song. In fact, that's mostly what it was known for at first, but then the Suns started doing it, and lots of other teams. Our little high-school trickle down was probably a result of that. :-)

Kris; Totally. On the running out part, not the baby name. I love you, but sometimes I think you bait me... :-)
